joyful noise :::

As one of my hula ministry mentors taught me… all things were created by God. All things belong to God. Therefore, dance belongs to God. We can return this blessing and “give back” to Him, redeem dance as worship to the Creator. (As in 1 John 4:19… “We love because He first loved us.” We dance because He first created dance.)

So…my joyful noise is for now a dream where all nations, cultures, churches, hula ministries, come together and dance as worship to the one true Father God, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit. Even that dream I have to defer to God’s will; only if He wants it. I don’t want it if He’s not in it. And… if He brings us to it, He’ll bring us through it. Amen?

Joyful noise does not have to be perfect. Nothing’s perfect; no one’s perfect except our Lord Jesus. But as in 2 Corinthians 12:9… “His grace is sufficient for you. His power is made perfect in our weakness.” It’s in this spirit and mentality that I share my experiences… as not exactly what the world considers as, with all due respect to hula history, culture, teachings, as I’ve said before.

Forgive me if I’m redundant in that. I know we can’t win ‘em all and I know it’s human nature for someone(s) to get offended and unpleased. That is not my intention. I hope to please God first as my accountability and ultimate judge I answer to. My heart for this website is to create a channel of inspiration and encouragement.

On that note (no pun intended), I have a favorite song that says what I mean. It’s called, “Legacy”. I hope you get to hear the song some time. The lyrics says it all for me…”I want to leave a legacy…” Legacies leaves us with a feeling of leaving, going away… that’s just it, we never know when it’s our time to go. Our days here on earth is evidently numbered. I am very aware of this inevitability. And my big dream may not happen in my lifetime, but as long as it is at least formulized (an open invitation) and put out there for other dreamers to keep alive, then it’s timeless.

Anyway, I figure, when I said I hope to be an influence in people coming together to worship God, I also realize there would be a speed bump in bringing people together, in the first place.

But I have a hope… Galatians 6:9… “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at a proper time we will reap a harvest, if we do not give up.”

And I have a prayer… John 17:20-23… is Jesus’ prayer to His Father: “I’m not praying just for them but for those who will believe in me, because of them and their witness about me. The goal is for all of them to become one heart and mind. Just as You, Father are in me and I in You. So they might be one heart and mind with us. Then the world might believe that You, in fact, sent me. The same glory You gave me, I gave them. So they’ll be unified and together as we are – I in them and you in me. Then they’ll be mature in this oneness, and give the godless world evidence that You’ve sent me and loved them in the same way You’ve loved me.” Unity must have been so close to Jesus’ heart that He prayed to His Father for us to be united. I too pray for that, in Jesus’ Name.

I know that there are experts (I sure am not), historians, teachers, many different and strong opinions and personalities, official or unofficial opposition, negative/critical nay-sayers, competition, division/dissention, legalism, attacks from the enemy, etc. There will always be that, as long as we are in this world, an unperfect world… only when we are in God’s Heaven will we all come before Him and hear His perfect truth, experience His perfect ways, and enjoy His perfect blessings. Until then… Psalm 100:1….”Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands”.
