prayers & praises :::

We started the hula ministry as a “small group”, in more ways than one. In numbers. But as the typical small group Bible Study… one fond memory was when the hula sistas and I would meet at my humble abode for practice. One untypical night, for some reason, the ladies had heavy hearts and we ended up sharing our prayer needs, we cried, we hugged, we listened, we laughed. Before we knew it, the practice was over without us even hula-ing. All of us from that night still cherish that time even now; always; it was the best hula practice of all time… when we fellowshiped and worshiped in prayer.

On that same note… I learned that hula ministry can be our god and that is a hard lesson for me to forget. Now I hope to share with all the ministries… we used to say this a lot, a while back in the days: “We’re worshipers before we are dancers. We’re Christians before we are a hula organization.” It’s not the hula and then praise. It’s praise first, then hula. It’s worship first, the rest is HIS-story. And prayer is a great form of worship. And even as good as or better than prayer requests… are praise reports. Don’t forget to praise what you can be thankful for, despite your prayer needs. God delights in our praises! We can have an attitude of gratitude; it can get you out of your rut and sad times and balance your prayers to not just be asking God for things (your personal shopping list), but thanking Him for things (His shopping list for you already bought and fully paid for – with a price, precious life and sacrifice of Jesus, His gift of salvation to us.)

My close friends happen to be prayer warriors and devotional teachers. So prayer means a lot to me, when it comes to hula ministry, or anything and everything. I have a heart for praying for you because I believe God answers all our prayers. It’s an experience of spending time with God, talking to Him and casting our burdens to His care. I believe healing and comfort starts as soon as we pray; the process of praying. I cannot count all the answered prayers and miracles He has blessed me and others with. Prayer is power. God’s power. And it is available for you. He is available to you! Thanks for sharing your prayers with us! And thanks for praying for me! (prayer verse)

“I always thank God for you; remembering you in my prayers.” Philemon 1:4

"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." Romans 12:12

"Do not be anxious for anything. But in everything, by prayer and petition, present your requests to God." Philippians 4:6
